About Lorna
Lorna is an Olympian and has represented Great Britain in 2 Olympic Games, World Championships and Europeans and a former British record holder. She has represented England in 2 Commonwealth Games winning a Gold and a Silver medal in the 100m Hurdles.
Once retired from competitive sport she returned as a GB Athletics Team Manager which included the Sydney Olympics. She has led a number of GB junior teams as coach for sprints, hurdles and relays, where relay teams have won several medals under her guidance. She has also led England Athletics at Commonwealth Games 2014 and 2018 in the speed events.
Alongside coaching Lorna has worked in sports administration contributing considerably to a number of well-known successful programmes for some leading sporting organisations which include: World Athletics formerly known as International Association of Athletics Federations, Sport England and Sports Aid.
Lorna was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours in 2019 for services to Sports Coaching and administration and was voted Women’s’ Sporting Ambassador for 2018.
